⚠️ This procedure uses food-grade reagents but several practical points still need care. Use the saltwater mouth rinse only — do not swallow detergent solution. The chilled ethanol is flammable; keep it well away from any open flames or hot surfaces. Glass test tubes and beakers are fragile; handle with care, especially when chilled. All collected cell material is the student’s own and should be disposed of into a labelled biological waste bag (or autoclaved before disposal). Wash hands thoroughly afterwards.
