Precipitation Titration: Quantitative Chemistry Practical

Safety

Safety

⚠️ Silver nitrate solution stains skin and clothing semi-permanently and is harmful if swallowed — wear safety goggles, gloves and a lab coat. Potassium chromate indicator contains a chromate ion that is toxic and a suspected carcinogen — minimise contact and use the smallest quantity needed. Glass burettes are fragile; clamp securely. Silver and chromate waste must go into the heavy-metal waste container, not the sink. Wash hands thoroughly afterwards.
